Expanding Footprint
The NatureRe Catalyst Facility will initially be tested through a TopCo-level investment supporting the scale-up of our flagship project in Colombia’s Magdalena Valley.
Initiated in 2022, the project's first phase successfully restored 705 hectares of degraded land. Early monitoring reports show encouraging ecological recovery, backed by a top-externally rated, validated restoration methodology. Carbon credit issuance for this initial phase remains on track for late 2026. The expansion will scale the project’s restoration footprint from 705 to 16,000 hectares. Catalytic capital will directly fund immediate land acquisition and kickstart new restoration clusters across contiguous, high-potential expansion zones.
Validation with Swiss Foundations
Under the Innosuisse Booster project, the initial focus is on engaging Swiss foundations to validate the framework, gather feedback, and structure anchor transactions.
The Catalyst Facility is designed to remain in place as a permanent, ongoing platform. By keeping the Facility active, NatureRe establishes a repeatable, self-sustaining pipeline that bridges the early-stage funding gap for multiple restoration clusters over time.
Outreach may subsequently expand to family offices and other aligned capital providers.
Indicative Facility Terms
The objective of the Catalytic Facility is to establish a self-sustaining blended-finance vehicle that bridges the early-stage funding gap for nature-based carbon removal. Its rolling capital model is intended to use repayment and exit proceeds from maturing investments to seed subsequent project cohorts.

All terms are indicative and remain subject to validation, legal and tax review, due diligence, final documentation, project performance, and applicable regulation. Nothing on this website constitutes an offer, solicitation, investment recommendation, guarantee, or financial advice.
Beyond financial returns, each €1 million commitment earns 500 high-integrity NatureRe carbon removal credits, offering enough verified offsets to cover roughly ten years of carbon footprint for a private banking family profile or to directly decarbonize a foundation's endowment assets. As institutional investors and development finance institutions step in to scale mature projects, the initial catalytic capital and accumulated interest are repaid and redeployed, turning a single philanthropic spark into a continuous engine for global ecosystem restoration.

Teploying early capital at the TopCo level for this initial Colombian site is intended to serve as a live proof of concept, unlocking immediate land acquisition and early-stage restoration while providing real-world operational and financial data to refine the vehicle. This phased approach enables NatureRe to kickstart physical, landscape-scale restoration on the ground without delay as the broader multi-project facility structure is finalized. Our vision extends to prospective future pipeline sites in Brazil and potential future expansion into Peru.
